Arwenmark, best wishes for a successful procedure and recovery. I hope you are getting good treatment and rest as needed. I have followed your move to WV with interest and admiration for your being proactive under the circumstances.
Sending you well wishes. It's a very routine procedure. I remember bringing a patient down to the cath lab and I was breathing for him and we were doing CPR. The cardiologist had that artery open in minutes, even before we could set up the ventilator. I'm sure you will be in and out without incidence.
so tomorrow I go to the same hospital that threw me out three weeks ago to have another angioplasty done.
I had gone into the hospital on Valentines Day with another heart attack and while there they did an angiogram and while doing it used a balloon to reopen one of my three stents. He said after the procedure that a second one was 70 percent blocked as well but he did nothing about that one. Now three weeks later I have to have the second on done.
I am concerned since every time they do this they go in the arteries up to the heart with a wire and there is always a chance of a puncture and bleeding. Plus the general inconvenience of having to do it all again. Hopefully I won't have to stay, especially after the last time which ended so badly.
Anyway good thoughts, prayers and good wishes all will be appreciated by anyone so inclined.
Thanks
Best of luck to you for speedy recovery.
It annoys tye heck out of me that they will only do 1 thing in invasive surgery, and make you come back to do other things. It seems to me to be EASIER and CHEAPER to go in ONCE, and fix all ills in one fell swoop, but no, we gotta do them in stages!
I had a cardio cath once and they said unless more than 75% blocked they leave it alone...so i have to suffer if its only 65-70% blocked????and wait for a future daye to fix it???
Dont know what insurance companies are thinking...if what they do requires thinking
Or tte doctors and hospitals who get to bill and bill again for services rendered repeatedly.
By now you've come out on the other side of this procedure, and here's hoping you'll find it was a breeze overall, and you're finished with cardiac procedures for quite a while and well on the way to mending and good health.
