I hate to break it to you but it ain't being labeled senior that separates we old'uns fromg the young.

I remember people in their 30's who looked ancient to me when I was 18. And the more they protested that they were still "young" the older they seemed.

They will respect you more if you are comfortable in your own skin and don't pretend to be something you are not any longer. Being older & even old doesn't mean you can't have good interactions with the young.

Yup, the term makes you--cringe--, but you --like the discounts-

Sorry, it's a two way street.

Thanks for sharing....I don't think I will ever like the term "senior." For some reason it just doesn't fit me.....I am an "old hippie from way back when" and still have quite a bit of "rebel" left inside of me despite my age today....Sometimes I refer to myself as an "old grey mare" when I get into one of my playful moods....I guess I just don't like to go by someone else's term and designation for me.....But it's fine if other people like the term "senior.".....We're all different and this is great....My husband will be 68 next month and he doesn't like the term "senior"either....

When I was a freshman in college I wanted to be a senior. So now I am the ultimate senior!

You wrote it very well. There is a misconception about older people and sometimes, it's not a good one.

As for those of us who will need jobs, that's not a good thing.

call me a senior, a senior citizen, doesn't bother me, the best is can't call me late for work, and don't call me late for dinner.
