Default Good riddance

Nothing more pathetic than seeing some person with a false sense of superiority, but with the ultimate in bad taste, driving around in this very, very ugly piece of junk on wheels.

What a low-point in automotive history...good riddance!

Biggest A-hole boss I ever had drove a red H2. Never liked them. Glad they are going under. Now you will start seeing them sold at those little side lots next to the Corsica, Beretta, Lumina and Sebring

hold on. let me put on my 'surprised' face........

in some ways i feel bad for Hummer as i think it got a bum rap. let's not kid ourselves. outside of the H1, they were nothing more than glorified Tahoes and Trailblazers, but i don't see anything wrong with a little variety. but, when everyone that owns one is a douchepickle, well, you're gonna get a rep. and when gas prices go through the roof and people need a finger to point, they don't feel as bad pointing it at the jerk down the road rather than Suzie, the nice neighbor with the Suburban in the driveway.

still, in the end, it was just a fad vehicle. they were popular because they were the thing to have. now it's the Prius and the Smart car. give it 10 years, and it will be something else. it's inevitable.

Mike

Haha... LOVE the thread title! Sounds like the punchline to a dirty joke. When I saw it I thought maybe it was in the Relationships forum - perhaps as an example of the best break-up ever.
[/standup routine]

As far as getting rid of the Hummer brand.... good idea.

They have a whole website dedicated to the hatred of the H2. Can't say I blame them.

I'm surprised China nixed the deal. The company interested in purchasing Hummer wasn't planning on selling Hummers in China -- China has one of the strictest fuel-mileage requirements in the world -- it wanted to see if they could make Hummers more fuel efficient. I'm wondering if they wanted the intellectual property, not the fast sinking brand.

My guess is that this company, with no automotive experience, couldn't prove to the Chinese government that they're capable of re-inventing the Hummer. Or maybe the Chinese government didn't see enough of a value add to justify the PR nightmare.
