All I can say is NO way and never did want to buy a Hummer.

News, Hummer sale: Only 2,200 left.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- General Motors made it official on Wednesday: It is shutting down the Hummer SUV brand and offering rich rebates in a bid to move the remaining 2,200 vehicles.

Buyers can get $6,000 rebates on a 2009 model year Hummer H2 full-sized SUV or H3 mid-sized SUV.

the hummer's were doomed from the start becuase they were not anything like the H1 and were terrible off-road if they made the like the current 4-door jeep wrangler rubicon they might have sold better to the off-road crowd

If I was going to buy a off-road vehicle I would buy a Unimog.

If I was rich and eccentric (I am the latter...certainly not the former), I would buy a brand-new H2 and park it in a storage facility for 25 years or so. Then, bring it out and take it to a car show after everybody's forgotten about them just so people could point and laugh at how stupid it is.

That's about my only use for a Hummer but since I can't afford one, it will just remain the post in this topic.

Would I want to pay for it with my own money? No.

Would I want it if someone gave it to me? Yes. That way I could sell it to some poor fool.

They actually aren't too bad offroad, I've been with friends who owned one and took them out into the desert for some offroading fun and they perform quite well. Certainly not as well as an H1 would but at the half the price, they hold their own.

Thought about buying one a couple years ago before I bought my Yukon. The interior wasn't up to par compared to the Yukon plus I didn't care for the large number of blind spots due to the design of the windows. Nice vehicle but I passed.

Have a good friend that bought one brand new 5 years ago. They LOVE IT! Granted they have the $$$ to buy any thing they want and he always wanted one so he got it. Only thing they have that shows any signs of having $$$$$$. Recently the dealer told him he could sell it in a day for MORE than he paid for it in China. They are HOOOOOOTTTTTT in China right now. They are paying crazy amounts for used Hummers over there and with the demise of Hummer it is only going to shot their stock up on that end of it. He thought about doing it but the cost of the new one and what seemed like a lower quality interior he passed.

You could go buy that new one sitting on the lot now and send it to China and make a little money on the deal if you wanted to.
