Avanti II.
Followed the bankruptcy of Studebaker.
Had multiple owners.
Sadly, few had any automotive experience.
The last owners went to jail.

I do miss Olds, but voted "other" for International Harvester. Buddy had an early-70's Scout with a V-8 (345?) in it that ran like a raped ape. He had a plow on it, and it could push snow as well or better than my other friend's full-size Ford pickups, despite the weight difference. IH's lousy sheet metal was prone to rust, but show me another smallish body-on frame vehicle that you can mount a plow to and not give it a second thought, perfect for small lots, driveways, etc. (maybe an older Bronco). Pops bought a '49 IH pickup with the intent of restoring it back in the 70's, but never went ahead because I didn't show much interest in doing so. Wish I had that truck today.

I've started really liking the '55 Pontiac Star Chief. The 'Tri-five' Chevys grab too much attention IMO. Cool car or what?

Absolutely gorgeous car. I'm surprised they weren't asking more and that the reserve was not met.

Pontiac was such a huge loss. But, of course, it was lost long before the brand was officially put out of its misery.

Saab. Loved those quirky cars.

Ford Escort. Best car ever, had it 5yrs., until a woman who wasn’t paying attention t-boned my car and was a total loss. Never had a problem with it.

That isn't a defunct or discontinued brand, though. Ford is still alive.

Would have liked to be able to vote for more than one brand. I voted for Saab. Would have also voted for AMC as their crossovers were decades ahead of time. The design was right but the technology and engineering wasn’t quite there yet.

I agree. And the sheer ineptness of some of their engineers is a part of the problem.

I have a Saturn sitting on my driveway, that is for sale: cheap, because they screwed up the CVT design, and then, instead of fixing the problem (primarily, three badly chosen parts in the transmission) they chose to let themselves be sued.

This has pretty much told me I don't want any more GM cars, at all.
