Your roommate can not give you permission to stay. The landlord can ask you to leave. He needs to give you 30 days notice.

Do not dig in and wait to be legally evicted or it will cause you hardship for the next 10 years.

There are some situations where the landlord can get you out in a lot less than 30 days. I have no way of knowing if you are in one of those situations.
