I'm 23 years old and am preparing to move in the next month. I have been renting for the past year but living with a two room mates under the roof of one of their relatives, so we have no lease or anything to substantiate the lease.
I have rented twice before in the past with written leases and had no problems (ie: never been evicted, no late payments...).
My boyfriend and I have limited credit history and not a whole lot of money in the bank, but both have steady jobs. I am at a new position and he is in a job for over two years now.
I am very concerned about getting approved for a lease...do I have anything to worry about? Or am I worrying for no reason?
We have a net income of about $2400 a month and are looking to rent an apartment that is $740 monthly.
It sounds good to me. My first time renting an apartment, being older than you and not being employed, I wondered too, but had no problem (showed them bank account balances.) I think they prefer people with steady jobs--just bring them some paperwork showing what you earn.

We are mostly interested in evictions and criminal past for the last 3 yrs and if you can afford to pay at least first month and sec. and sec. deposit....last month can be even paid in installments. So if what you write is true you shouldn't be worried.
