I didn't find a room cheaper than $206 plus resort fee (and possibly plus parking too), that price being at the Silver Legacy which does look like a cool property. Even Super 8 in Sparks was over $100. We just decided to stick with the early morning flight anyway.

Comparing Reno to other casino resort destinations, these rooms are actually cheaper than Biloxi where the Golden Nugget and Harrah's for the same night would be over $300 now, would have been cheaper in advance though Biloxi is a coastal destination. Being from Gulf Coast, casinos aren't really that special to me anymore.

I remember back in 2011, I was able to get a room for $39 a night at the Stratosphere Las Vegas., the second cheapest hotel stay ever for me, the only cheaper one was a roadside motel in West Virginia.
66 at quality inn by the airport.. For Sunday.

It sounds as if you might be traveling during Hot August Nights (first week in August), which is the busiest and most expensive time of the year for hotels here.

Check with us here before you travel to Yosemite if it’s in the next few days. Highway 395, 88, and 89 are having closures at times due to a wildfire.

No, not on weekends at least. It is hard to get a bargain during the week in Carson City now too.

Currently staying at Best Western Surestay Plus right by airport for less than $100 a night - no resort fees, free parking, nice pool - and 1/2 a mile to Grand Sierra Resort. I'm tired of these casino resorts with 1/2 hour check in waits, 1 mile walk to room, and outrageous resort fees. We are are going to Great Basin Park and staying at Ely then on to Vegas (Hampton Inn at Convention center). Not staying at casino hotels and happier for it.
