So I'm off to begin my new job this morning...orientation...how boring. I really remember it being 3 days last time, but I'm scheduled for 7! What on earth could we possibly do for seven days of hospital orientation? There just isn't that many benefits and policies to go over...but I'm getting paid for it so I guess I shouldn't complain. I can't wait to get through all this part, and then unit orientation to get to my regular schedule...hopefully I can breeze through unit orientation in a few weeks...we'll see.

Of course I was trying to look nice so I was putting makeup on to discover that my 5 year old took my makeup brush (you know the one for your blush) to use as a paintbrush...*sigh* Looking nice is over rated anyway.

Wish me luck!

You go girl!

Good luck, Irish, and don't worry about the makeup thing. It's that inner beauty, (as they say!) that truly does count!

Take gentle care!

Irish, I pray that you do well and love your new job, and the luck o' the Irish be with ye

Irish prayer (author, unknown)

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.May the sun shine warm, upon your face,
and the rain fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

I need this thread today!

So my first two days back on the unit were great...although I've not gotten a delivery yet...I'm sure next week will have some, at least by c-section.

This weekend I get to go to my glass jewelry class! I'm so excited, yet exhausted all at the same time. I will post the pieces I make on Monday when I get home from work. Should be fun!

Ok all the rest of you...what's going on that you are happy about? I need to hear some good news today!

Good for you irishmom! Glad your job and your jewelry making are going well. I don't think I ever updated on this. I did get my grief recovery book finally published and we just recently set up the companion website to go with the book. If anyone wishes to have a look, the website is:
