Religious teachings are always discussing the conflict between good and evil which in Christian terms would be a conflict between God and satan. I'd like to get into a little more detail regarding the various beings that are described in the Christian faith and how it might resemble a military chain of command.
Let's begin with God and his hierarchy of beings since they're the good guys. I'm assuming that God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit are to be considered as a single entity and that we don't have a God who is the commander in chief who Jesus and The Holy Spirit report to kind of like the Vice President and the Secretary of State report directly to the President. Please correct me if you don't agree. Then we're also told that angels exist who appear to be of lesser importance than God so I'm again assuming that they might be comparable to generals if you relate them to the chain of command in military terms.
Ok, now the bad guys. Satan appears to be at the head of the food chain in terms of evil beings in this universe. This is a little strange because the Bible states that satan was at one time an angel but started an uprising among the other angels and ended up taking a third of God's angels under his control and into the enemy camp. So apparently when satan committed this act of treason he was also promoted to be the leader of all things evil and the other angels he took with him must somehow be taking orders from satan which would create a second tier of command. The only place that I've heard explanations of satan having three components which would be similar to God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit is in Hollywood movies so I'm thinking that satan is in charge all by himself. Then we get into these strange entities that are known as evil spirits, demons and that sort of thing. Can someone explain how they fit into the hierarchy of evil with satan as their leader and if they directly report to the angels who joined satan in the uprising?
It's odd but the good beings and the bad beings seem to have a different structure or chain of command. I can't think of any of God's creatures who would be comparable to an evil spirit or demon except that they happen to be good but maybe I'm just misinformed. Anyway, we've got a variety of entities who can be classified as good or evil according to the Christian faith so I'm curious if anyone can explain who is in charge on both sides and who reports to who so that we can understand it in terms that would resemble a military chain of command.

You will learn the answers if you read 1 Enoch and the book of Jubilees. It is all explained there.

Satan was never a holy angel. There is no place in the Word where he is called a holy angel, and is always the opposer, the evil one, the tempter, the slanderer, who has a host of satans -and the demons- under his command, and their reason for existence is to tempt, try, seduce and so to test the holy angels and the sons of men, in this present creation. He gets the fruit of his labors in the lake of fire, forever.

Satan has not yet caused the fall of the one third of the angels. That is the final tally of them. Men and angels are still falling.

According to evangelicals, there is an unholy trinity of satan, the antichrist/beast and the false prophet.

The whole premise of rebellions in heaven is on Revelation and pulling down the third of the stars is not referencing celestial angels. This whole concept suggests that the creation can usurp the creator and as angels are supposed to not have free will aka choice, the whole myth falls flat.

I have heard preachers say that the hierarchy is based on threes.

Initially God, then three "archangels" Michael, Gabriel and Lucifer - David had three captains, Jesus had three special disciples etc. However, this does not seem to be a mainstream belief.

But seeing it is all myth, what does it matter?
