You seem to be confused. Joe Lieberman was given the VP nomination of his party. Romney was a legitimate, strong candidate, yet he was passed over because of his religion. There is NO comparison between the two. If you have some point to make about Lieberman/Romney, please do so.
My question is, why do mormons continue to support a party that clearly does not reciprocate.
My point has been made. Your whole premise is flawed.
Prove to the forum that Romney was passed over because of his faith.
"McCain and Romney would be like oil and water," said evangelical novelist Tim LaHaye, who supported Mr. Huckabee. "We aren't against Mormonism, but Romney is not a thoroughgoing evangelical and his flip-flopping on issues is understandable in a liberal state like Massachusetts, but our people won't understand that."
Bolded for emphasis on a pretty clear point from your OP.
Tell ya what, I'll back out of this conversation and see what happens to this thread.
Mr. Huckabee's supporters tend to be "rabid" in their views against Mr. Romney because of his faith: They do not regard Mormonism as a Christian denomination.
My parents live in Iowa, which was the center of the political universe during the primaries last winter. When my mom went to vote, there were some Evangelicals (I assume) with signs saying "Jesus wouldn't vote for Romney."
That kind of crap has really turned me off the Evangelical religious right. I'd no sooner rather be associated with them, than with the extreme left. Therefore I refuse to register with either party and vote on a candidate by candidate basis depending on who I think best represents my values.
