So if we become human beings at conception (single cell) and get our "soul" then, do Chimeras have two souls? since they are a mix of two single celled humans growing together to form only one apparent human being (multi-celled body). Mostly directed at pro-lifers or others that wish to comment on the "identity" and "soul" concepts.

Tetragametic chimerism is a medical issue, not a religious one. Besides it's never been proven that the soul enters the body at conception.

Makes your question seem silly IMO,

So you don't think we aquire/become a soul at conception? Don't both "persons" within a Chimera die to become a new "person" or do only born people have any rights?

Hello LuminousTruth
I'am not very clear on your definition of the chimera. When I think of chimeras genetic splicing comes to mind. Are you saying chimeras occur naturally in nature?

Yes, unless I am mistaken. And even if chimeras were artificial, their existence would still be a conundrum for the 1 soul/spirit per individual argument (supernatural things being conundrum on to themselves).

Chimera definition - Medical Dictionary definitions of popular medical terms easily defined on MedTerms

yeah, they occur naturally.

By that definitions I would say one, but it's one soul per individual (though two individual's can share a body)

I was always taught the "Soul" doesn't exist, but is a continuation of our life after we die. One could say the human "soul" is actually created at death.

Thanks for the clarification. Very interesting reminds me of a t.v. special I was once watched called something like I'am My Twin.
