Would you rather have complete love for the Lord with limited Bible knowledge `or a vast amount of Bible knowledge only? Would you consider a vast amount of knowledge as arrogance?

You don't need a lot of Bible knowledge to love the Lord, even a child can understand the plan of salvation. But as our relationship with the Lord grows so does our knowledge of the Bible.
Complete love of the Lord is sufficient for me! While I think having some knowledge of the Bible is helpful and important, it is by no means necessary for salvation! I would rather have my salvation any day!
I came to love the Lord before I knew the bible. I didn't even understand who the Holy Spirit was...but I knew I had found God...oh how sweet the hour I first believed.

I would rather have love for the Lord first, then afterwards get the Bible knowledge. There are those with a LOT of Bible knowledge and little or no love for God. One huge, glaring example of this is Satan himself....he knows the Bible frontwards, backwards, and sideways, but needless to say, does not love the Lord.
And.....another reason to love God first is that Jesus said it was the MOST important commandment of all: (Matthew 22:37-39)
37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38This is the first and great commandment.
39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself
I would not consider a vast amount of Bible knowledge as arrogance, but rather obediance. Some people perhaps may appear to be arrogant if they have little love. The Bible says in 2 Timothy 2:15
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
And Jesus said this: (Matthew 11:29)
"Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls"
I much prefer my relationship with the Lord over "book knowledge", however, i think the latter is an inevitable result of the former. The more you love the Lord, the more desire you have to read His word.
Even my partner, who is just starting to learn about Christianity and just started reading the Bible, finds that once you start reading it, you can't stop. She says, "I get this weird 'tingly' feeling when I read it".
Gee, I wonder what people did before reading became something that everyone could do? Could it be possible that what they felt in their hearts was enough?
Ditto Love for the Lord. All the knowledge in the world is of no benefit if it cannot be put to use, and love of the Lord is the reason for bible learning.
Complete love for the Lord will drive you to the Bible where you will learn to love Him even more
he stole my words...
