I thought your suggestion sounded like something different so I looked. Of course I have to sign up to see anything. Only 3 states and one Canadian Provence is listed and nothing is going on. I guess it's a brand new site with about 4 members world wide. I deleted that in a hurry.

Locally, you might look around for "free" newspapers--they're usually printed by independent--sometimes alternative--printers.

I get Creative Loafing, and there's often talk in there about places to eat, things to do, etc. I sometimes get something called "Positive Change", and that's also local to me.
