Since it's Memorial Day weekend is here - usually there is some sort of food related party going on. What foods/drink do you use as an aphrodisiac to attract your mate? Be specific, please.

Dark chocolate coupled with red wine. Grapes work too!

Depends, FB. If I'm industrious, then lasagna al forno. If super-industrious, then cozze alla marinara (the Southern marinara, with tomatoes), bread and some kind of vegetable dish baked with breading. A bit heavy, I know, but it's very relaxing.

And if I'm not especially industrious then various antipasti like pickled mushrooms, bits of cheese, olives, marinated red peppers, anchovis, melanzane (stir fried in some olive oil, salted and sprinkled with herbs and bread crumbs), what have you.

For the record, I am NOT above cheating by opening a can or jar if I'm not up to total preparation.

As for the wine, we have a local winery which produces the most wonderful two vini di tavolo I've ever had! My Italian friends loved it!

Although we both like good food, food as an aphrodisiac does nothing on him.

I think it's less about food being an actual aphrodisiac and more about setting the mood. Despite oysters being high in zinc (a mineral men tend to get low in, so they respond positively to supplementation), there really aren't any foods which are TRUE aphrodisiacs.

Nope, the psychology behind it is what one is going for; otherwise, whatever food was scientifically proved a TRUE aphrodisiac would be common in every household and freakishly expensive.

I see. I've just never gotten the food-sexy-in the mood thing because I see nothing sexy about chewing and eating noises. LOL It's one of my neuroses. I think about as far as I'd go with that is cooking together but never getting to the meal--probably not even getting to finish cooking it.

In order to use food/drink as an aphrodisiac with the bf I would rub my body with steak sauce and douching with beer.
