if a woman wears a ring on her left ring finger, even if it does not appear to be an engagement ring or wedding band (looks like some kind of flat onyx) does that mean it involves an SO or an ex?
in other words, does the left ring finger always signify an SO? or do women wear non- SO rings on that finger?
I guess it depends on the woman. I never wore a ring on that finger before I was engaged. My ring doesn't look like a traditional engagement ring either, it's sapphire instead of diamond.
It depends on the woman and the culture she comes from. European women tend to wear their engagement ring/wedding band on the right hand ring finger. In the U.S. you find it on the left hand ring finger.

It could even be a promise ring? The ring that states you are exclusive before the engagement ring.
I always wore rings on that finger before I was engaged, although I had a ring on the other hand too. Does she wear a ring on her ring finger on her right hand? If you only wear a ring on one hand...I would pick my right ...don't want to chase anyone away!!

just that today i noticed the ring on the left ring finger. it was always there for years, nothing new
she is black, I am white, she has 2 kids i was told the father is white and is basically never around. that bothers me a bit and is part of the reason (but not all of the reason there are other reasons) why i don't do anything
i am also a very neurotic type of guy (tho i don't really show it around her) about these things
just the way her hair looked today and the way she sounds when she talks to me got to me a little "worse" today than it usually does if you know what i mean
i've been really good too tho i found her attractive i was ok with not caring but today she just got to me in a bad way. i wish this would just stop, i feel like a little immature kid
i've never been attracted to a black woman before this is new and it's worse and more intense than with someone of the same color
Well..I wouldn't let that one lone ring stop you for a minute....unless you're trying (subconsciously of course!) to come up with excuses to not go after something you might want.
You say she already has 2 kids...if she liked bad boys at one time and that is what she classifies the father of her children as...and it didn't work out...I'm sure THAT cured her of her desire for bad boys.
Your neurotic but don't show it around her? Don't assume she hasn't figured you out either. Us women are excellent at figuriing out what doesn't 'show'....
Stop torturing yourself......kick it up a notch and get to know her a little...one on one...coffee or something.
