This didn't go over well with my sister or mother at all and my sister said I was a narcissist. I have always thought I might be yet I'm not even totally sure exactly what one is...help Crazy yet but family issues tend to be

I don't think you are giving enough info about the story, or are holding out on details. If it is your horse, then why are they calling you selfish for selling it?

Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental disorder in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance and a deep need for admiration. They believe that they're superior to others and have little regard for other people's feelings. But behind this mask of ultra-confidence lies a fragile self-esteem, vulnerable to the slightest criticism.
This is how the Mayo Clinic defines it.

Frankly, these are the only dates I get I seem to get anymore! So for god's sake, be one, it's been a few weeks. Need more in the pool to draw from.

Ok maybe I am one I still don't know what that has to do with selling my horse and why my sister got mad. I know you guys don't know either though...perplexed and venting.

Well, maybe your sister wanted the horse?

Without details, the only thing I'm seeing is a sister based spatting disorder.

Going strictly on the bare bones information you've given: if you can't afford to properly care for the animal, the kindest thing you can do is give him/her to someone who can care for it. If they are saying you are selfish because they want to keep the horse tell them they need to contribute to it's care. Otherwise they have no say in what happens.

I would be upset with you as well. You don't just give a horse away. There are too many creeps out there that will just take it straight to the slaughterhouse. You know this, right?

If you are just putting an ad in the paper - "free to good home" - your horse is not long for this world. With the economy in the basement, there are not many who can afford the luxury of a horse - you really need to be careful who you give your companion to.

Would you even bother to check out their story? Would you go to see that they truly have the facilities to care for the animal - like a barn, pasture?

You are probably correct. I had offered her the horse but she declined saying she couldn't afford it. I was giving the horse back to my former trainer. End of story though my sister NOW is taking the horse but she is still super mad We lost our father back on Feb. 9 and he used to go to horse shows with us so maybe there are issues here It would probably be a book. Oh goodness goodness me.

Sounds like that's more the issue. I don't think you are a narcissisist. It's gonna be rough going for a while - hopefully it will be just a while. Some carry this for many years. Hope your sis heals in time.
