Hahaha! I probably would have, I find crazy people fascinating. I like to figure them out, in case I'm ever on the wrong end with them.
In my experience, you can't "figure people out." A whole bunch of them can be read
on a pretty surface level anyway. Fairly shallow. But for the most part you can only accept or reject people. With crazies, part of their nature is to be unpredictable. I don't waste my time anymore trying to figure people. My efforts are better spent elsewhere. Even if you do come to understand them on a deep level, a week hence they may behave differently and seem like a different person.

I think your best shot is to just focus on "why did X person do X thing at that particular moment?" as far as analysis goes.
The problem I think you'll run into is: most people don't know or contemplate why they do the things they do, so ultimately you will just be ascribing characteristics and motivations to people which are merely projections of your own imagination.
