An afternoon out on a glassy smooth clear mountain lake does wonders for a soul. A good way to end an otherwise rough week. Even caught a couple of fish. Actually doubled my catch from last year.

What type of fish did you catch, if you don't mind me asking? Do you plan to eat them fresh, freeze or smoke them? Curious minds want to know.

The rainbow trout and bluegill are back in the lake. Otherwise I would have ate them. Likely grilled. Lemon and herbs oilive oil, with salt and pepper. If I had a great day I would have frozen some of the filets.

I haven't heard from my daughter for a few days, which is strange. She moved out a year ago and every once in awhile I get a scared feeling, like when she was 3 and wandered away from me at a gas station. Hard to control myself. I was a helicopter Mom. It wasn't easy to stop that.
Ok, anyway!-- I texted her and asked: "So what are you doing?" She replied: "I'm at an Iron Maiden concert, texting with my mother."
Pretty cool, huh? I'm going to have to keep that one.

Sweet fancy Moses, rainbow trout is my favorite food on earth. The only terrestrial or aquatic flesh I will willingly consume is rainbow trout. Back in VT, I frequented a pizza joint that served pizza topped with trout and sliced lemons. Its been a many years, as there is no trout to be found in the metro area, with the exception of the one time I found it at a fish market about 10 years ago and paid an obscene amount of money for it. The fins caught fire when I set it too close to the broiler, but it was otherwise divine.

Those are both beautiful fish, and I'm sure they are tasty too. I've never tasted a bluegill (I had to google it) but I used to trout fish as a kid with my grandfather on camping trips. Over a campfire grill is how he always prepared them. Wonderful memories.

Out on the prairie lakes walleye reins supreme. I like walleye. I also love trout. I like fish. Today I wasn't serious about it. More out to have some fun. I left my trout gear at home. D'oh

Right on! I'd like to move to the mountains, somewhere in Montana.
