Does anyone else here just randomly have something wildly inappropriate pop into their heads at work and snicker through meetings, or is it just me?

Ya, I bite my lip, try to make a frowny face and end up sounding like I have a slow leak. It usually gets at least one person around me stifling themselves as well, so I don't feel so loony.

My trigger lately is a new guy who's so emotional, whenever he gets the 'talking stick' and gets to say something, it's embarrassing like: "I'm having some concerns about a relationship I have with a coworker and need some feedback..."

I don't want to talk about someone not getting their emotional needs met at work, and it makes me like him less. I try really hard not to picture hitting him with the 'talking stick', I sound uncaring, but I don't like 'needy'.

I always mumble something inappropriate at work.
My boss ,"Any questions?"After a meeting.
"Why can't girls stand and pee?"
My boss,"Ummmmm"
You said,"Any questions?"

ALL the time. It is an affliction.

One guy I work with regularly LOVES the phrase "skin in the game," and I just CAN'T with that phrase.

I think that is the one big flaw in the plan. How convenient would that be if we could do that??

I'm irreverent. When I worked - now retired - I loathed most meetings but was subject to all too many. It was not uncommon for me to walk into one, look at the person who called it and ask, "Is this going to take long?"

Once when I was at of the weekly briefing for executive staff in my department the executives started batting around some minor issue or other which I found nonsensical at best and they kept it going far too long, wasting time and getting nowhere in my opinion. I finally had all I could stand and spoke out saying, "Y'all sound like a bunch of civilians." Everyone stopped talking and stared at me. I was a manager, not an executive and sitting in for my boss so I was a peon. The Director asked, "What does that mean?" I replied, " Out of step, out of dress and late for chow!" Thankfully, that ended the meeting but it didn't do much for my "popularity."

You need to make one of those bingo cards with work jargon like, "let's stick a pin in that" or "we'll unpack that idea later."

Maybe it's more convenient, but based on some bathrooms I've seen, plenty of dudes can't pee standing up, either. Like, if you were pouring yourself a cup of coffee, you wouldn't put the cup on the floor and try to aim, right?

I thought that tossing a couple of Cheerios in the bowl helps. LOL
