Scenario #1: A fairly attractive, single woman (a 7.5 on a scale of 1 – 10) hits on you by asking you if you'd like to grab a cup of coffee sometime (in this scenario the woman is definitely hitting on you – there's no ambiguity) – you say yes and the two of you eventually start dating.
Scenario #2: You hit on a fairly attractive, single woman (a 7.5 on a scale of 1 – 10) by asking her if she'd like to grab a cup of coffee sometime – she says yes and the two of you eventually start dating.
Is it more appealing to be hit on by an attractive woman or is it more appealing to hit on an attractive woman successfully? We've all heard that men enjoy the chase, therefore, Scenario #2 (guy hitting on the girl/woman) – according to conventional wisdom – should be more appealing to the average guy.
As a woman, I would think that Scenario #2 would be more of an ego boost for a man because he could take most, if not all, of the credit (nonthreatening body language, intelligent conversation, good grooming, good eye contact, not reeking of misogyny and misery, confidence, etc.) for "just going for it because the worst she could say is no and it wouldn't be the first time or the last time a woman said no to you" and successfully landing a fairly attractive woman. What do you think?
Its more satisfying for me to "successfully" woo an attractive woman and number 2 would probably be better if she's honestly that way. That said if a woman has feelings for me plays hard to get and tries too hard to be like the second situation that is a turn off. I hate games more than anything else.

#1 because then I could say that a woman hit on me, asked me out and thought I was hot (she obviously wouldn't be doing so if she didn't). All things that have never happened.
The chase and pursuit only just begins at the first cup of coffee...The first one is a bit more novel. Unfortunately, it only seems to happen when i'm exclusive with someone else, which is a whole 'nother thread.
Number one because attractive women(and women in general) only go out of their way to approach and ask out guys they find highly desirable so of course that would boost my ego.
The vast majority of men don't approach because they "want to", they do it because they have no choice
