Hello everyone,

I been wondering about this question.

Do women look at porn or have any interest in it? For example, are you tempted to look at porn when browsing throught the internet.

I would like to hear honest, straight answer here.

Porn???
Well, I can't speak for other women but I definitely have no interest in porn and don't recall any of my friends having an interest especially in internet porn.
That just screams sleazy to me.

Now erotica is a whole nother thing. But the erotica that I refer to is written not pics. They say that for women sex begins in the brain. Maybe it's true.

What kind of erotica? Check Ellora's Cave or LooseId or Changeling Press. Any of those sites has the type of book I am refering to. Even then you will see there are different levels and content, just depends on the person.

I remember my wife telling me she doesn't like it but sometimes finds it interesting (hmm ok).

Her last long-term boyfriend had to have porn on the TV in the bedroom while they had sex, otherwise he couldn't perform. What the hell is that about? I'm a 23 year old male and the last time I looked at porn was when I was 14, and I certainly dont need it to perform.

sorry for hijacking the thread... Ill retreat now.

I'd say yes. Years ago I had a boyfriend that worked in a video store. It was one of those stores that had porn movies in the back room. Women would come in there alone and rent porn. Also, I used to babysit for a single mom, years ago, and she had quite the porn collection in her home and she didn't live with a man or have a boyfriend. I have a highly sexed friend (married for 16 years) and she loves watching porn with and without her husband.

I don't care for the porn thing. The movies crack me up. All the fake moans. Yuck!!
What Goddess said about reading erotica. That sounds okay.
Personally, I would rather be having sex than looking at it on a movie, internet or a book and don't understand why most men would rather be looking at porn rather than having sex.

Speaking as a man, I'd rather have sex than watch porn any day of the week and twice on Sunday. But then I may be a little stranger than most. Porn is, at best, a poor substitute for a good workout in between the sheets. Otherwise, porn is nothing more than masturbation, mutual or not. Erotica, in my opinion, is mental masturbation or a poor substitute for foreplay. Understand that these are my opinions only and reflect the place where my head resides. Other people have, and will continue to have differing opinions on this subject. I don't consider porn to be obscene, just not a substitute for sex and foreplay.

Another FEMALE respondent here.......I'm with Goddess--erotica is just plain enjoyable...and DH doesn't mind at all when that's my evening reading material. ; he knows he's always the happy benefactor!!

Women have a big interest in porn, especially now that movies can be downloaded over the Internet and they don't have to rent it from some pimply faced teenager in a video store that will snicker at them.

They can sit at home and look at whatever they like without anyone judging them. And nobody ever has to know about it. Not even their best friend.

Well, Mal, you're right in a lot of ways both porn and erotica are substitutes or foreplay, depends on the person/people.
Generally that is the whole point, hon!!
