All the so called games people play, hard to get, etc. expecting the man to pursue (I do expect the man to pursue but I think that's a self protective strategy so it can be pointless if the man is protecting himself too.) I don't think it's that. I think who ends up with who largely comes down to social value, not so much your behaviors with the opposite (or same) sex. Comments?
absolutely, but IMO social value is not fixed definition and varies from mate to mate. For example, some women are attracted to strong rugged firemen types while others see the successful business man as more attractive. both alpha males, different social value
I tend to like guys that I have to pursue. However there is a fine line between "bitchy" and being a ass. I am attracted to guys that are a little "bitchy" and high maintenance but if they cross the line to being a ass I just move on as I don't find that attractive at all.

By social value I mean as the above poster gave an example of alpha males vs beta males , tall men vs short men, people / men with money, women who are in shape, young women, hot women vs. cute women etc. Meaning typically a person who is younger, especially a female will be more of a catch than an older female. Different people like different things. Some men think tall blonds have the highest social value, others would rather have a woman with large breasts regardless of hair color as long as she's in shape, etc.
Social value is such a broad term that it really is impossible to define as a universal concept.
What do you value socially, I mean if you could have the perfect mate, would you have a blonde or brunette, would she be petite or tall, large or small chest? Do you care how prestigious or not her job is or if she even has one? Does she have to have a certain income? How many children? What do you think is impressive? Age, how many years difference is your preference? Sexy or cute type? Bad girl or good girl type? What do you like and value?

Those are preferences and not necessarily traits that contribute to social value. Social value to me, is more about your status or more precisely your ranking as compared to the rest of your peers.
