I see cute 45+ men all the time. They see me and think "Are you even old enough to get in the bar?" [Not kidding, this happens when I go to a place where the crowd is ~40+]
Completely agree with Jade on this one. It seems almost a sort of competition in this city who can go oldest without settling down, hehe.

Heheh! I know. I know a woman who divorced in her late 20s and no kids. She's about 55, a pretty silver haired lady. She has fun dating all the younger men. From late 30s to 40s.

Well you are in your mid thirties right? I would be surprised if she was older than your mom, your mom would have to have had you pretty early. I'm 21 so...yeah.

My mom was a bit late for her time. She had me at 29 (and my sister at 33). My parents were always among the oldest when I was growing up. Even among my friends now, it is pretty weird. Their parents are quite a bit younger than mine.

My paternal grandma had my aunt at 39! Considering my aunt is 54 now, it is crazy!

So your mom had you in her 30s, I assume?

No, she's in her sixties now, she had me in her forties. It was a risky procedure; the doctor and my mom opted for cesarean a la Macbeth. She went under and I came out and it was actually much less painful than a regular birth.

My mom did c-sections too....for other reasons. She had a miscarriage and fibroids before me. I was a fluke, a super preemie, born 3 months early! I turned out just fine. When I meet people who are worried about preemies, I tell them they have hope for a positive outcome.

I need to find away to suss out people's energy level [I find it doesn't always come across on the phone either].
I don't think it's possible. I have good friends who are as exciting as a dishrags online, but ridiculously entertaining in person.

Meeting people is really the only way to know.

Nice Jade! You are a very special fluke indeed. And three months early just wouldn't fly with a Chinese parent. The timing of the birth is ultra, super, mega, hella important, for reasons of astrological felicity. A few days too early and I would have been a goat! Instead I was born on the 9th of January, last month of the Chinese year, and thus became a horse.
