A friend of mine, now divorced twice, was fond of saying, "Yes we own them and if they are an asset, it's one with a diminishing return." This is a truly caustic point of view and one from someone who has had his share of unpleasant experiences with women.
clawson26, I can respect your position. Like I said, I couldn't change MINE fast enough.
When you grow up with a famous name, even tho you are named after your grandmother who wasn't famous....you tend to want to get rid of it. My maiden name was Elizabeth Taylor. And yes, I endured every joke in the book. Actually in my family there are FOUR Elizabeth Taylor's. When I was born she was NOT the mega star she is now.
The one question I dreaded as a teen was "Are you the real Elizabeth Taylor"? As an adult, I learned to answer that one with "As real as I can be".
Of course it did NOT help matters that the middle name of the man I married is Burton. Liz
Oh my gosh, that is so funny! Okay, so are you actually related to Elizabeth Taylor, or just happen to have her name? My daughter is supposively her sixth cousin, and actually looks like her. Her auntie looks so much like her too-gorgeous!
^ I don't understand what you mean. How is it disgusting?
