The show was excellent, but IMO the seating at the DPAC was horrible. Either the stage was not high enough or the seats were not elevated enough between rows. I don't go to many shows (disclaimer: it may be a common issue at other venues too), but this was my one complaint about the DPAC--won't be seeing another show there. I can only compare to the Progress Energy Center, as I've seen a couple of shows there.
My wife and I went to the show last night, and if you have not seen Wicked you should definitely check it out. The show is here until May 16th.
But if you don't already have tickets, you're pretty much SOL unless you want single seats or to pay exhorbitant ticket reseller prices
There IS a ticket lottery where you can get there at 4 PM the "day of" and wait to see if you win for that night's show, but nobody I know who did that actually get tickets doing so.

We sat in the right orchestra section.
Are you talking about Memorial Auditorium? I don't know how you could prefer it when the seats aren't even staggered. Every time we went there after the renovation we basically looked at the back of someone's head the entire show.
I go to Memorial Auditorium (can't remember it's new name but it will always be M. Aud. to me!) often and I have been to DPAC twice. I must say, I love the staggered seats at DPAC and find it easier to have a better view. I'm only 5 ft. tall so sometimes it can be difficult to see over some giant guy's head!
First time at DPAC, we had front row seats. Still don't know how I got 'em! For Wicked, the best I could get was in the center of Y, which was further than I wanted to be but again, those staggered seats really made seeing quite easy.
If you were sitting on the sides, I can't address that as I always go for the center seats. I've been on the sides at Mem. Aud. before and I won't do that again.
