I will be relocating from Vegas to NC in the not too distant future, I plan on renting until I find where I want to live... Right now, I kinda like Knightdale and Wake Forest ,but then I haven't see all of the Raleigh/durham area.
Can I hear some pros and cons about both places, which areas are closest to the majority of Universities because I "might" decide to do some part time teaching.
I am a retiree and single.. I have lots of friend/relatives in SC but not Nc so I will be venturing there alone...

We've been in Knightdale several time while shopping for a new home. We are a family of 3, including a school-age child. Knightdale is growning rapidly. There are new stores, highways, and more. Most of it are still building. We thought about living there, but changed our mind after we found out about schools there - it wasn't too good. We're looking for a great school for our kid.

For you, I'm sure you don't need to worry about schools. The neighborhood is what you need to worry about. I would say to stay away from eastern Knightdale. There is some gang activity there, according to the newspaper. You can search it on google or yahoo.

Other than that, Knightdale is not too bad. You will need to go there and see it for yourself.

well neither knightdale nor wake forest are really near any of the major colleges or universities here. you'd need to live in Raleigh, Durham or ChapelHill/Carrboro for that. So that's something to think about.
