Some of my favorite things to do last summer after I had just moved here was free/cheap concerts and movies outdoors. For example, I went to the concerts in Fred Fletcher Park each week (free), saw some outdoor movies at the art museum for very cheap, as well as outdoor movies at the Koka Booth ampitheater. Does anyone have links/info about schedules for those (and others I may not know about) this year? All I've found so far are the 2009 schedules.

I also want to add, that the Raleigh Road Theater, in henderson is a great family friendly drive in theater! We go regularly, they offer family friendly movies for the first showing, (usually G rated) then the second showing is either PG13 or R, they are all currently released movies.........And, admission is 6 per adult and 2 dollars per child 6-12. They have hot dogs, popcorn, candies, etc.

We bring lawn chairs, and have a great time! It may be a drive for some, it is about 30 minutes from wake forest, but it is a fabulous place for fun!

Duke Gardens had free movies last year. They had classics like The Wizard of Oz, Singin' in the Rain, etc. I don't see any information on their blog or website about that yet this year. They also had some music, too, but I think there was a small fee for that if I remember correctly.

The drive-in is a great idea for a different-from-the-norm date night. I'll have to check it out! Thanks!

I've been wanting to go to Duke Gardens for the longest and haven't been, so I'd definitely be up for classics in a beautiful setting!
