We all joke about having to ID the road signs in the drivers license test, but I noticed this interesting scene at the traffic circle in the Falls River neighborhood after returning from the Christmas Holiday. The speed limit in the neighborhood is 25 MPH. Looks like somebody out there doesn't know what a "Yield" sign looks like.

I dont think whoever had a problem with the sign but knowing cars dont drive to good when not on pavement.

They was like screw the traffic circle, Im going straight ahead. Maybe they was in a hurry to use the bathroom

NRG,
Didn't you mention something about not being able to be outside raking leaves without a friendly neighbor stopping by with a cold one for you??

You're assuming the car's driver missed the yield sign and drove into the yard. I suggest that perhaps s/he was, in actuality, speeding away FROM the house pictured .....

I think having to ID road signs on an NC DMV test sounds like built-in trick questions; how does anyone pass? Like:

"Does 440 run north/south or east/west?"

*buzzer* Trick question! It's both!

When I got to the "yield" on my sign test, I said, "Yield. That means . . ." and the tester cut me off with, "Next." He didn't even let me say what it meant!

I think the sign test is just a vision test.

NRG - are you sure that's not part of the famous Falls River Crop Circle? Maybe if you'd have panned out, you'd have seen the other lines?

Joey good one! Another one would be - at a 4 way stop ( no lights), who has the right of way when two or more cars arrive at the line at the same time? Answer: in Raleigh that would be whichever driver cursed the loudest & threw the most birds, while cutting you off. you are supposed to let the crazies go first!
I remember when it used to be the opposite of this...ah, the good old days!

It is. You're really only supposed to be able to see/identify the sign itself. If you can do that it's pretty much assumed you know what "yield" or "stop" is.
