Having visited Raleigh only once I'm seriously considering relocating there. Clayton's housing market was a pleasant surprise. My concern is how remote is Clayton? My initial drive from Cary seemed long but that is how first trips always seem. Are there sufficient restaurants and activities close enough to Clayton? The Neuse development was impressive-any information on that apecific area ?

We do'nt find it too remote. We can get to White Oak (Target, Best Buy, eateries, movie theater, Dicks, Kohl's etc) in 15 minutes. Several malls and downtown Raleigh within 30. Schools are great and the houses and property sizes just cannot be beat for the price!

We find it remote. It has more of a rural vibe. It is all what you are looking for in a area. We wanted something more built up.

Between Smithfield (The Outlets) and Garner / Raleigh we find most everything we want within 20-30 minutes. If you want clubs, dancing and high end weekend parties (There ia a place in downtown Clayton that rocks on the weekends) then it is rural and remote.

If you do things on the weekends during the day it has great proximity.

If you prefer to do your activities in the evening it is rural.

It would depend on where your job is. If you worked in downtown Raleigh or NCSU, no problem at all. To RTP, it would be more of a hike.
