My TV is only a year old. Yesterday I noticed when I tried to change the volumn either lower or higher it took a number of seconds (about 10 seconds.) It also jumps to a much lower or higher volumn then I wanted. Also, when I try to change channels by either directly putting in the channel I want to watch or scanning the channels it is taking a long time. It used to change immediately. A couple of times when I put in the channel I want to watch a different channel appears.
My bedroom TV is working fine.

I did change the batteries in my remote control, but it didn't make any difference. Anybody out there have any ideas as to why this is happening? The way my luck has been going I'll probably need a new TV soon. The warrenty was good for only one year, just in time for it to start acting up.

I did not notice a more fitting Forum to post my question.

You did not state how you get your TV signals. If you have a cable box, your channel selector/delay may be due to something with the cable box/software. If not and your TV is doing the tuning, todays TVs are more like computers. You might try unplugging the power for a bit so it "reboots" the TV and see if that helps on response. Also, if you are tuning between stations of different modes (Standard vs High Def), the TV might take a bit longer than switching between 2 channels of the same mode (i.e. High Def vs Standard Def - there are multiple resolutions between different High Def channels as well). Just a thought or 2.

Thanks Andy64. I have your basic/standard cable so no cable box. Since this is a new problem I don't think it's because I'm turning between stations of different modes. However, I do like your idea of unplugging the power for a short time so see if it reboots. Thank you for your suggestion.
