Old thread alert! From 2009 so hopefully views on breast-feeding are generally more progressive.

OP - you might want to start a new thread asking about pediatric dentists specifically!

I hardly know anyone that didn't breasfeed..
I know this is an old thread...but breast feeding wasn't out of the 'mainstream' 20 years ago when my child was born! LOL!

exactly...

I meet new parents often that think they are so advanced because they feed homemade food,
do enrichment activities, sing to their baby..Things parents have been doing forever.

Then when the pediatrician doesn't give them a "best parent ever" award they are sure they
the Dr. is freaking out that they are so much more enlightened than all the other "mainstream"
parents...

Have you interacted with any young parents lately? You might be taking these things for granted because that's the way we were raised, but there are alot of bizarre ideas (mostly driven by business or political interests) out there now about child rearing from media outlets.
