I am reading that NY Pizza was the winner of the BEST PIZZA IN WESTERN WAKE, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and the recipient of the Cary Magazine MAGGY AWARD for best Pizza in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009.

Sounds like this may be the place tonight.

Bringing a taste of New York to North Carolina

I have to throw my vote in for Cozzolinos. The service is always polite and quick. The pizza is delicious. A lot of Friday nights end with us ordering a large pizza with meatballs. You can't go wrong with Cozzolinos.

We had another one last night from NY Pizza. Very good, except when I picked it up I discovered their score is only 90.0. UGH!!!

Well, it does say "NY Pizza" right there on the door. But maybe they are taking that a little too literally?

I like Homegrown, the NY Pizza in Holly Springs isn't as good as the one on Harrison in Cary. Both are better than the chains.

Homegrown has good wings, which is a rare in a pizza joint. Wings at NY Pizza are TERRIBLE, they must bake them or something.

All this talk of pizza...do you all think theres room for more competition? I started a thread "Real NY Style Pizza." I am relocating from NJ. Not quite sure where we will set up shop, but we are looking at Clayton....are there any good places in that area?. I will have a recipie that will definitely be a winner...I wont repeat myself here as its already posted in that other thread.

There are not nearly as many options in Clayton. I'm sure they have a few good places but Clayton in General is not a built out as the rest of the Triangle and thus has less dining options than other areas.

I have heard that Clayton is an up and coming area. More families are moving there and it will be a rising star... I also heard that there are a few biomedical and pharmaceutical companies opening up in the Clayton area and that it has the potential of being a new hub for that type of business. Clearly less competiton is better than more, however like I've said elsewhere...if one can provide a quality product consistenly it does not matter how much competition there is...
