Anyone know of a good web site which easily and clearly identifies common bushes and flowers for this area (and/or generally)? I don't care about scientific names or how to grow/etc, just a pic and the common name is plenty.

I use this site a lot: http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/depts/hort/consumer/factsheets/ but I am not aware of any site that lets you browse by pictures to find the name of a plant--you have to know or guess at its name to search here.

These Gardening Forums are good resources, also:
Name That Plant! - GardenWeb
Gardening in the Carolinas - GardenWeb

No - apparently doesn't exist - and some of these have little if anything in the way of schrubs, just flowers/etc. Oh well thx anyway

You can try this site and see if it is what you want. They are a nursery by the outlets in Smithfield and have a variety of items.

DeWaynes Home and Garden Showplace

Click on "Plant Guide" and then you can click on "Shrubs" etc.. When you get to the next page you can enter all sorts of search criteria or just enter your zone (7) and it will bring up a list of the shrubs with the common name and a little picture.

A book is probably your best choice; you can browse the pics.
