I stumbled upon this Italian Bistro yesterday, we had a nice dinner there. I am very rarely in this part of Raleigh, but was yesterday. I do have to say that the food and service at Assaggio's was exellent. Has anyone dined there? If not, try it out.

Have a great day all!

Is this in any way connected to the Assaggio's in Fuquay? Their websites are separate (and the Raleigh one is much more professional), but the logo is almost identical, and the menus are very similar if not the same. I'd be curious if anyone has been to both (probably not seeing as they're on opposite sides of Wake Co, but anyway), and how similar or different they are.

Hmm... is this a sit down restaurant? I would like to try it out this weekend. The Web site looks like it is carryout only in my opinion.

You can dine in, its mentioned in the small print on the home page but easy to miss. They do also have a market section.

Sorry for the thread necromancy, but I got some additional information to an unanswered question in this thread.

The owner's name is either Dave or Dan - can't remember, but he originally had the one in Raleigh and the one in Fuquay, but sold off the one in Fuquay - but that location kept the name. At least that was the story as told by our server last night.

I had the special; Penne Rustica - shrimp, spinach, tomatoes and feta over penne. My wife had the Pollo Picata. Both dishes were very well done.

The pizza here is excellent too. There is sit down service and take out.

I am in Clayton now, but I used to live in an apartment just down the road from Assagio's in Raleigh, and was a regular customer back then. Their pizza is very, very good and the pasta dishes I tried were also quite tasty. The only thing I didn't like from there was the eggplant parmigiana (mainly because not even Assagio's could work miracles and make eggplant taste good to me, haha).
