One time I had to ask for extra seasoning on the fries as they don't put quite as much as the ones down in Wilmington, but it is still the same exact food. Turns out I even know the owner of the place (after the fiance has been going there for over a year and not realizing it), you guys should check it out if you are in the area. It turns into a bar at night to cater to the Chapel Hill school crowd which is interesting.

Now that is interesting that it converts into a bar, didn't know that. Yeah, I found out that a co-worker of mine who is also originally from Wilmington used to date the owner...not that it got me any special perks, but it's just funny what a small world we live in

Well, I finally took my free weekend (that I won) in Wrightsville Beach this past weekend. THANK YOU again for all of your recommendations. They made a big difference.

I put my photos into a PowerPoint presentation (no ppt program needed) and posted them on a third-party site (NOT my own web site at all). I am doing it just for fun and because I enjoy taking photos -- a hobby I used to have that went by the wayside a while ago.

Here it is:

I loved your ppt show! It brought back so many good memories... it almost seemed to sum up my years there. It was interesting to see the inside of Shell Island because I've walked all around the outside many times. How cool that there were two weddings! I consider it a good sign to "stumble" on a wedding (kind of like finding a penny heads up). So I think you will have double luck! You're a great writer - I, for one, would love to read your essay if you feel inclined to share or let us know when it gets posted/published

MrsRhythm,

Thank you for your kind words!!! I'm so glad you enjoyed the slide show.

I don't have a clue what I wrote in the essay contest, unfortunately. It was written on an online form, so I have no copy. When I returned a call to the hotel management earlier this year, they did mention that they were just discussing my essay. I wish I knew what I wrote. I rarely enter contests, so it was wonderful to win.

And I love your idea of stumbling on weddings as good luck. I need all the luck I can get.

Thanks again!
