Here are a few pictures from my visit to the Artsplosure festival in downtown Raleigh today. There were tons of artist selling there wares, lots of great music and a very good crowd. It is a great event to check out! It runs through Sunday, but check the weather before heading out tomorrow. It could be a wet one! My camera batteries died so I only got a few pictures. Please add your pictures if you have any!

I went today with 5 kids in tow and a big time was had by all. Didn't see many of the booths, but made some crazy hats, saw some great music, a show by the actors doing High School Musical II for North CArolina Theater, an amazing band playing Johnny Cash, saw the pirate show and the acrobats....then lunch at Times Bar. All and all, a great day.

Nicely Done!

My wife and I went there last night and then hit the 'Duck and Dumpling' for dinner. That place in unreal! If you have not tried it you should. The Dumplings were great and the Scallops were incredible.

Artsplosure is another great event for Downtown Raleigh!

Great day yesterday with that being part of it. We started off with Star Wars at the Imax, followed by Artsplosure and lunch. Saw a guy taking pictures. Could that have been the world famous NRG?

It was great, the weather was perfect, nice cooling breeze all day. The only minor issue was when both bands were playing at the same time, you could hear them overlap and it was sort of distracting if you were trying to enjoy one show or the other. Lots of good vendors selling crafts and a few selling art. I still would like to see a better selection of fine art at these venues. This one had more, but still more craft oriented vendors.

Anyone buy a T-shirt? The 2009 Artplosure shirt was.........well, lets just say quite feminine looking. I noticed nobody was buying them, or wearing them. It was so feminine looking, it was as if the someone, like the perhaps the designer had an agenda. ) Too bad as I really wanted a souvenir.
