Hi, does anyone work for the Raleigh Progress Energy Nuclear plant, and if so, how do you like working for the company? Would you say they are family friendly, and a great company to work for?

I knew several ex-workers.

Progress recently got people to leave so they could be replaced at lower wages.

Uh-oh! Please excuse my ignorance if my question shows it, but is this a norm with all big companies, or is this something I should worry about as a maybe new employee?? You know what I mean? I'm a newbie to the corp. world?

Not everywhere but becoming more frequent.

Circuit City did this just before folding in bankruptcy.

Once again saturnfan does not have his facts right. 3 years ago Progress Energy offered VOLUNTARY retirement to those that were eligible. This is contrary to what Circuit City did which fired/laid off their older employees to hire younger/cheaper ones.

DM me if you want any info regarding working at the Harris Nuclear Plant.
