I'm interested in planting one or two rasberry bushes in my yard. Do they do well in the Triangle climate? Is there a nursery in Raleigh that sells rasberry bushes?

Thanks!

Raspberry bushes do great in the Triangle. Just find a spot with lots of sun and good drainage.

I bought my everbearing bushes (fruit twice a year) from Four Leaf at the Durham Farmer's Market. There will likely be some available at the SFM in Raleigh and (if you can afford it) at Logan's near "Seaboard Station" in downtown Raleigh.

For Garden's Sake in Chatham Co., just south of Southpoint has a good selection. Also there is Home Depot and Lowe's, but their root stock can be suspect.

Raspberries are a plant native to NC, and like all native plants, do very well here. Go to the Raleigh farmers market, in the open-air building there are lots of plant vendors there - talk to them. Most of those vendors actually run large plant nurseries and what they bring to the farmers market is just a small sample of what they have back at home. Don't bother with HD and Lowes - the quality is lower and prices are higher than what you can get at the farmers market.
