My 9 year old daughter has been loving soccer for a while and it looks like she's ready to go beyond a recreational level. Does anyone have experiences with local leagues/clubs they can share? She's in the Futbol Club of Cary recreational league right now; how is their competitive program? I've heard good things about CASL, but they seem to be fairly expensive (over $300 in registration fees for two seasons on top of $90/month for the YTS program ).

Thanks!

Don't know much about it as I do not have children, but check this out:

Welcome-Goldstar Soccer Club: "To inspire in all children a life-long passion for soccer".

Goldstar has partnered with Trangle United for their competitive teams. We have been very pleased with their competitive league.

Try Next Level Academy in Morrisville (Next Level Academy) they are a great supplement to Rec soccer if you don't want to do CASL's YTS program, although if your daughter is good, I highly recommend both. Another thing you could do at her age instead of YTS is CASL Challenge league..it's a step above rec, but not as expensive or stressful as YTS. You could also try FVAA.org they have a nice competitive soccer program. Most of these have tryouts in May, though, but it wouldn't hurt to call now and see what's available.
