I drove through the neighborhood Highland Oaks today in Cary & noticed many houses for sale. Does anyone know why??? The neighborhood is very new maybe 12-18 months old and it does not have that many houses to begin with. I know that construction is finished there but why would so many want to sell their homes having only lived their for a year. Anyone know why??
We looked at a rather nice home in Highland Oaks, and decided the homes were closer than we could really be happy with. This was maybe a month (or more?) ago, and I didn't notice that many for sale in there (but then, I really wasn't looking).
Not sure why so many (how many is a lot?) are up for sale. Seems there are usually at least a few in every neighborhood
I only see 2 listed this morning. One @ 535K and one @ 695K.
I stand by my earlier comments that north of $500K I would immediately rule out Pulte. Highland Oaks has location in SPADES but I'd rather be west of NC55 in a home by a local custom builder at that kind of price point. I'd gladly give up a little square footage in exchange for quality and service.

Again, 5 active today. FWIW:
$535,000
$563,800
$615,000
$695,000
$719,900
2? 5? Whatever?
Neither is a huge number in a subdivision of 90 in a community where people transfer in and out regularly.
You may not think it is a huge number for a community of 90 homes but it is a huge number considering the community is only 1-2 year old. Basically the people listed have only been living in their homes for 12-18 months or under. Why are they moving out so quickly??

jobs change, needs change, finances change
variety of reasons- just as in any neighborhood, regardless of how old it is. Wouldn't be surprised if some folks got more house than they can really afford and have realized if they don't sell they are going to be in deep do-do

This is a town of people with professional lives and careers.
In that market demographic, it is not unusual for people to transfer in and out unpredictably.
Sometimes they get a transfer, promotion, etc, before the home is even finished.
I have heard nothing about Highland Oaks to make me think they are being driven away. We have a member and regular poster(can't remember who) who lives there and seems happy.
With all that in mind, the number is low.
Many neighborhoods turn over a higher percentage regularly.
Your question seeks a reason, and I predict that those who are selling could each cite a different reason, likely without mentioning anything negative about Highland Oaks.
