Hi, my husband and I will be relocating to the area in April. We will be moving into our home in Morrisville in July and need a temporary rental April - July. We found a place to sublet that sounds perfect but it is in SE Raleigh near Knightsdale. It is called Austin Grove. Does anyone know of this complex? If so, how far of a commute is it to Durham? My husband will be working at Duke/VA hosp. Thanks in advance for your help.

With the new 540 open you should be able to get from Knightdale to Duke in about 30-40 minutes. Unfotunately don't know anything about where you are going to sublet. Good luck.

Thanks for the info. Just found out about another possible short term sublet in Cary which may be a better option.

There are some great rental properties in Durham itself. For such a short term thing, I'd suggest giving SW Durham a try. Why drive from Cary and pay Cary rental prices? Plus, you'll still be within spitting distance of Morrisville. Just a thought.

Best wishes for a smooth transition to the Triangle!

To be close to Duke, I would say anything in Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary/Morrisville and N. Raleigh in that order with Cary/Morrisville and N. Raleigh being about the same distance.

As much as I am a fan of Morrisville and NW Cary, I would have to agree that Durham is a much closer option to the Duke/VA.

Considering the continuing rise in gas prices, and growing congestion on 540, I would definitely recommend someting in Durham or Morrisville
