Can I donate an old computer and monitor to Goodwill?

I've donated a couple of computers to Goodwill before. I remove the hard drive first though. They can install a cheap hard drive and load free Linux on it or whatever. Or they can scrap it. We donate a lot of stuff every year to various Goodwill's so I don't think I'm taking advantage of them at all.
as has been said- Kramden Institute in Durham. They turn our old computing instruments into usable PC's, etc for young people whose families can't afford computers. And they're 501c-3, so you get the tax writeoff.
I'll pile on with the Kramden recommendation. They're local and they do good work. They also securely wipe all the hard drives they get before doing anything with them.
