Soccer, many people play CASL (capital area soccer league) and the games begin on Saturday, I am not sure if people can still sign up or not. Search for their website, and that should give you some good information. Casl has leagues all over the triangle. The local YMCA's also have soccer leagues for kids and they start the second week of march, so they are probably registering now. You don't have to be a member of the Y to play soccer there.
Basketball season (through the parks and recreation leagues) is almost over, next weekend is the last game. Generally basketball begins in december or january.
