I've always been highly satisfied with 9N9 for the last three years or so, but a few nights ago, I went there for combination Pho (toward closing) and the Pho broth lacked flavor. I wonder if they cook the stock ahead of time and simply ran out, or the ran out of the bouillon cubes or what--it was really disappointing. I'll probably try to go there earlier in the day.
I have gone to another one off of Capital that was good, but I think the Green Basil's pho was better.
The one(s) in the An Chau shopping center is a mini food court for Vietnamese food. It is really good, if you like authentic Vietnamese food. My wife (vietnamese) and I look around for good ones, and this is our preferred one in the area. It's a bit of a drive for us since we live in Durham, but we definitely prefer it over 9n9 (which is just up the street from us) and Pho Cali. It's a bit chaotic, but my wife says that's usually how they tend to be...
I'll try this again...with links that actually work this time.
I like Pho Cali a lot, but have been wanting to try this place.
