Montréal for me. I love that city! It's very vibrant with beautiful architecture. And the topography is so pretty, too. Bonus that they speak French, since I want to become fluent (I'm intermediate now). Unfortunately, it's hard to move there as an American :-(. Perhaps we'll snowbird there in the summer as retirees and winter in Florida!

I left out the entire west when I responded earlier - really I'd like to be somewhere in northern CA.
It's a very balanced city. And homes within the city are very affordable. Probably the best value-for-your-money city in America that isn't on a coast. Great public transit also.

I lived in MPLS for several years. I loved it. The big thing is the weather. My take on the cold is, like my take on the heat here. You either learn to live with and around it, or you become miserable. People ice fish, cross country ski, bike, etc... The rent is more expensive by housing seems comparable to buy for similar prices.

I don't mind the cold. I love the 4 seasons climate here, but I would definitely take colder winters. I had an absolute blast when we got snow here this winter. So climate isn't a concern for me in a possible relocation. I just can't take the extended heat that my birthplace of Florida offers.

Back to RI...or coastal Maine.
Love New England summers. Miss the beach.

I think I'd love Minneapolis if I could be a snowbird and in January live in Florida.

And February, maybe March...

Hehe. I wouldn't mind living in Minneapolis year-round. But I'm just crazy.
