I know food Trucks have been at events in Cary before, but this will be the first actual "Food Truck Rodeo" hosted in Cary to date. Takes place this Sunday 6/22 12-4:30pm on W. Chatham Street downtown. They have 15 trucks scheduled and there will be beer and wine from Fortnight Brewing and Chatham Hill Winery. The list of food trucks is pretty impressive and includes several of the most popular trucks. I am a fan of Sol Taco (which happens to be based out of Cary).
Either way, it is sure to be a good time and I wanted to pass this along since I know some people are looking to try the trucks but shy away from the massive crowds at the larger Raleigh and Durham food truck rodeos. You can read more about the event here:
I plan on riding my bike there if the weather is nice. I would not be surprised to see huge crowds, Cary usually has good turnout at their big events.
As for Fortnight. I SOOOOOOO want to like them, but their beer has been consistently inconsistent, floating between mediocre and downright bad. I've been on three different occasions, and have also gotten the same feedback from many many many friends who brew and who know good beer.
They are very near to me, and I have gone to support my local brew-pub, but these guys really need to get their act together, or they won't be around for long. It makes me sad to type this. My last visit was yesterday, and I barely choked down one ESB before I left.
Last night we ate at Jason's Deli. Ok, we all know it isn't even close to a NY deli! But...after Horowitz closed and Weinberg's closed, craving a hot corned beef on rye sent us to Jason's.
Not even close. I think they used to be better. The corned beef was so thick I almost choked on it!
So...brings me to this thread...
Why don't some of our NY friends get a FOOD TRUCK DELI?!!
What's with the overpriced food at food trucks here in NC? In the North-East, I could get a big meal for $6-7 at a food truck, here, it is more around $10-$12.
