Hi, my husband and I are excited to be relocating to the Triangle area within the next couple of months! We've sold our home in New Jersey and are looking to buy. As much as we'd like to move straight from this home to that home, we want to make sure we buy the right house for us. Therefore, we are looking into rental options on a short-term basis while we house hunt (~ 3 mos or month-to-month beginning in early May). We both work from home and would ideally like to have 3-4 bedrooms in the $1,500-$1,800 price range, but are somewhat flexible on both size and price. We also have an adorable dog (who can't go down stairs) and cat... we're less flexible on that...we really want to have them with us. Any suggestions you can offer on finding a house or apartment to rent would be much appreciated. We're looking to buy in Cary, Morrisville, North Raleigh or Apex, so ideally that's where we'd prefer to rent. Thanks!
There are several apartment complexes that rent on a short term basis. When we first moved we signed a 4 month lease in Morrisville. Rates change daily and lease options vary depending on the availability in the complex. Call around to different complexes in the areas you want to be in and find out what they have available in May. Bexley has several locations including Cary, Morrisville and Raleigh. Carrington Park in Morrisville is another complex that offered a short term lease when we were looking, as well as Stratford and the Arboretum in Cary. Your greatest challenge is going to be finding a first floor unit. I do not think you will have trouble finding a 3 bedroom in your price range. We found one for less and it was quite large and comfortable. Good Luck!
Add Carrington Apartments in Brier Creek to Sal M's list. Plenty of first floor units, but you may be limited to a 2 bedroom. However, they also have garages you can rent to store your stuff (if you insist on bringing it with you. We sold most of ours and are very happy that we did!)
There are a couple of other, nicer, and more expensive complexes that allow pets in the Brier Creek area that allowed short term leases. Call around.
