I'm moving to Carolina Preserve in Cary, NC and have a Realtor. There's nothing listed in the MLS, in my price range (to about $230K), with a private back yard -- or a view other than another house. I settle on my house in PA in 1 month. Might anyone know of one soon to come on the market? If so, I'd really appreciate knowing about it. And I need a short term rental in that neighborhood, if at all possible, until I find the right house. I'll consider all house models, up to approx. $230K, as long as there's a sense of privacy.

Thanks for any help I may receive!

Your realtor needs to maybe work a little harder. I just found a house that backs onto a road with a small yard for $233K. Took me all of 3 minutes!

Thanks for your reply, but not sure you understood I'm looking only in Carolina Preserve, a 55+ community, and she has shown me all that are "listed." There don't seem to be any available on forsalebyowner.com in my price range either, in that neighborhood. It's I who have insisted on a little privacy, since the lots are tiny and often back to back. Thanks though, for trying to help.

My parents live in CP. There's one for sale, listed on a popular real estate website with the conditions you seek. I'll send you the link in a DM.

Checked that one out last night and it looks good, but the back yard doesn't really have the privacy I'm hoping for. Thanks though -

There was one listed for $239,900 with a fence and a stand of woods in the back. It's half of a duplex, and it was on "forsalebyowner".

Update: Sorry, but that one had a contract with only 41 days on market. I guess anything with privacy is in demand. Good luck!

Yes, goldenage1, you're speaking of the one I found a couple of days ago on forsalebyowner.com, but I was already too late. It sold for considerably less and has already settled. It was exactly what I'm looking for! Thanks for trying to help -

Hi Marcy -
saw your post dated May '12 and I am also interested in CP. Was wondering if you found a place in CP? I'd be interested in hearing if you are happy with your move as I am considering CP as well. thanks.

Ann

Default Yes, very happy

Hi Ann -

I found a house and moved into Carolina Preserve 2 1/2 weeks ago. I couldn't be happier with my decision. My neighbors greeted me warmly and have been really helpful in sharing where to go for what in my new community. I have 2 nearby neighbors my age and single and we've already established very nice friendships. They're available, but not imposing. I'm completely comfortable in my new neighborhood. It was a big decision and a little nerve racking trying to make it, but it has turned out wonderfully.

Best of luck,
Marcy

Hi Marcy-
I'm so happy for you! We are looking at CP as a potential retirement spot and would love to know how you feel about the heat/humidity there. We really hate humidity and feel Asheville might be a better choice however, we can't seem to find a development that has the amenities that CP has to offer.
