Hello. Are there any Girls Youth Basketball options in Raleigh, besides Raleigh Parks & Rec, YMCA and i9 Sports? I'm looking for ages 6, 8 and 11. Fundamentals. Have I really already found all my options? Thanks.

Gina

Are you looking for a league or clinic-type stuff?

My church, St. Francis of Assisi, has girls leagues. You do not need to be Catholic to participate. I don't know what age they stop at. My son's league covers 3rd/4th grade, so the girl's leagues would cover the 2 younger girls. This is rather basic basketball - typically parents coaching, with low pressure on the participants. If you are looking for more then this would not be the league for you.

All 3 girls are just starting so I think basic ball handing, low intensity competition. Plenty of time for more competitive play when they get older.

I think a league might be too must too start out at -- at least for the 6 year old.

I'll look at St. Francis' schedule. Thanks.

CYO is probably your best bet. But honestly non of the town leagues around here are uber competitive and cater to all skill levels.
